Ex-Soldier Admits to Taking Bribes From Defense Contractors in Iraq


DollarBills_401K2012Last week, Former US Army Staff Sgt. Richard Gilliland admitted to taking thousands of dollars in bribes from defense contractors while deployed in Iraq. Gilliland pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to accept illegal bribes, and admitted to taking about $27,200 and a laptop computer from two defense contractors in return for agreeing to help them acquire used and non-working generators from the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office. The bribes were offered while he was a pay agent in Iraq.
